Meniere's Disease?

Sorry about the absence... no replies... no drawing. I've been really ill for the last 4 weeks and the last 2 weeks I have been to the hospital, doctors, and specialist.

They think I might have meniere's disease. Going to test later this week. Causes chronic vertigo (diziness and nausea), hearing loss, probably other horrible shit too, but it won't kill me. I can't even look at the screen as I type this. I've been unable to look at computers or anything for 2 weeks... focusing makes it worse.

Erm, don't really know how this is going to work. If I can get it under control or not. It can be highly disabling, and considering my career is looking at a computer... yeah... People often loose their drivers licenses and public transport is practically non-existent out here.

Haven't been able to fully research it yet. Not 100% that is what is wrong, but the tests are torture so this will be fun.

As for treatments, there are meds (which don't seem to be helping me), or surgery... fucking brain surgery. Something else less invasive too but it works 50% of the time. So far this is only in my left ear.

Please do not expect any replies or peeking in on DA. I'm just letting you know. Haven't tried drawing anything with this. I haven't checked my email at all. Just trying to cope and figure out what the hell is going to happen with work. No more sick/vacation time left.

I've lost 15 pounds on the not eating diet. Aaaaaaaaaaand the cat just farted. Nice.

Please just pray for me.

xmas recipe - spice nuts lol / alive & stuff

Hey, guys. Yesh, I am alive. My plane to/from Cali did not crash and burn. I haven't been on in a long time, nor really expect to be anytime soon.

I'm not drawing so that is mostly why. When I start drawing again I'll be back up and running. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and eats waaaaaaaaaaaay too much food.

Tis the season for me to make xmas chocolates and other sweets. Here is a recipe for all you nut lovers out there (obligatory lol). You can use any nuts, but my favorite is pecans. I'll be making these to take to future inlaws this Thanksgiving in Memphis. It's their favy.

Sugar and Spice Nuts

Software
1 egg white
1 tsp water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1&1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp coriander
1 cup whole almonds (shelled, raw)
1 cup halved pecans (shelled, raw)
4 Tbsp butter

Hardware
Oven

Long pan - preferable with sides/lip
something to melt butter in
2 Big Bowls
Whisk & Spoon
Paper Towels

1) Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
2) Beat egg white and water in large bowl until frothy. It should look like your dog just ate a toad. Really. It will.
3) Add all spices and sugar to bowl and mix.
4) Add nuts to bowl and mix.
5) Lay out nuts in single layer on pan, put in oven
6) Stir nuts every 20 minutes until dry (about 1 hour)
7) Melt butter. Pour over nuts and mix.
8) (Optional) Put paper towels in bottom of large bowl. Pour on buttered nuts

. Put in fridge. This gets rid of excess butter and chills it more quickly

Once cooled, put in plastic bag and then in a pretty tin to hoard for yourself or mercifully feed your minions.

.... for the week. Fly out this Saturday and fly back next Saturday, so I won't really be here... not that I am anyway. I may get some sketches out this trip... Acitivity level goes up if I have something to post.

Going to be visiting my Mom and Stepdad. It looks like we will be going to Joshua Tree State Park, the Wild Animal Park (or whatever it is called) and an Aquarium at Long Beach.

Snake help?!?!?

I just finished feeding my snake and the moment I got him in the cage he laid out a green shit. I'm talking GREEN!! like brighter than grass green.

I can't seem to find much information on this... just that he is sick. Some say parasites, others malnutrition, some say that happens if they hadn't been fed in a while, some say it is old frozen feeders. I was kinda changing up his feeding schedule because I thought I was overfeeding him. I HOPE this is just because I significantly dropped the amount of food I was giving him and the timing. Everything else seems to be an "its gonna die!!!" situation!

Does anyone here know anything about this kinda thing?!? I'm about to go to California soon and don't know what is going to happen with him. I've never had a problem before.

It's like this green poop thing could be a number of issues, almost like a catch all symptom. Going to call the pet store tomorrow that I used to frequent and ask if this is a get it to the vet ASAP thing... or a wait and see if it happens again thing.

STOP MAKING WEBSITES PURE BLACK WITH WHITE TEXT!!!!

For god's sake I can't go three lines without my eyes shitting a brick. Everything goes freaking blurry and then I HAVE to navigate away from the page because it is too much. After going to a normal site I see some sort of weird optical illusion... I still see those freaking lines and I have to look away for a few minutes for my eyes to go back to normal.

For god's sake don't you even look at your own website?!?

To get around this I try to highlight the text to force a white background with black text, but the contrast outside of the highlight is still to great.

Screw it. From now on I'm not reading a freaking website that is like this. Seriously, just make your text medium gray or something. Cut the contrast some so I can actually look at it without getting dizzy!

Does anyone else find this annoying?!?!?!
